Post Traumatic Stress is a combination or a collection of stressors or trauma, not a disorder, the sooner this is accepted the sooner people who have this may get help and support.
It can be life changing for people and can come from very complex issues to what could be considered mundane but it could be the 'straw that broke the camel's back' situation. Most people have stress or trauma in their life at sometime but it doesn't always lead to PTS, we can get PTS from childbirth, car accident, witnessing and aggressive act, surviving an incident when others haven't, being involved in 'conflict', basically the list is endless. We don't choose to have PTS it depends on our brain - if we have a 'vulnerable landscape' - we are more likely to to have these issues. Check out Havening.org website for more details www.havening.org/ or read, "When the Past is always Present" Dr Ron Ruden or read - Gabor Mate, "When the body says No" - drgabormate.com/ Havening and Hypnosis can help recovery from Post Traumatic Stress so you can live the life you want for your future. I think so many of us would love to 'unlearn fear'. Hypnosis and Havening could be classed as unlearning school. They both work on clearing the Amygdala of trauma, clearing it of unwanted emotions that are controlling our lives. I have 3 'fearless' tree surgeons working in my garden today. I asked them what their fears were, very random responses as you would imaging
Snakes/flying are 'everyday' issues for a Hypnotist, flying is usually an issues about lack of control, when he's 60 feet up in a tree he is in total control as he's done his risk assessments. Obviously its helpful to have a sensible approach to snakes and spiders I think the third reply is far more difficult to come to terms with - I don't have any other details - being paralyzed must be very frightening especially when you've already experience it. All these issues can be helped / resolved with Hypnosis and Havening. Well what a strange few weeks. I woke in the early hours two weeks ago to awful pain in my foot. Five years previously I'd had a very nasty painful blister, after several month we GP, Nurse, Dermatologist and myself had absolutely no idea of the cause. I researched it and thought it maybe a spider bite, no said the medics, there aren't any spiders that bite in the UK. (Look at google map for spread of spiders that bite!!) Well, the pain lessened the site healed but was still uncomfortable. I started calling it a snake bite as it seemed more impressive! Well two weeks ago the blister reappeared, not quite a large as the first one but very very painful. Two lots of antibiotic and six visits to Doctors later after consultation with two GP's (1 dermatologist) it was decided to aspirate the blister! Oh heck I thought, or similar. How will I manage the pain, what will happen, will it fill up again, lots of reasonable concerns came flooding into my thoughts. I used self Hypnosis during the night to allay my concerns but was still apprehensive as I walked, well hobbled, into the surgery. Once again Hypnosis came to my rescue, I focussed on an area on the ceiling and I'd gone to my special place, didn't feel a thing. The Doctor aspirated and dressed the area all pain free. How lucky am I to have this amazing skill, well you can learn how to go to your special place when you want to. Just call me to arrange your appointment, I look forward to hearing from you 07970 106316 pattihudspeth.com [email protected] |
