Grief comes in all shapes and sizes. If you put 20 or more people in a row and asked them that question you'd receive 20 or more answers. That's because grief is a very individual experience. We can grieve for someone's passing, for something we really wanted, the ending of a relationship, loss of a pet, the list goes on. I listened to a young woman on the local news recently who'd had an ectopic pregnancy, she was grieving for the loss of her unborn child, what might have been and her fallopian tube reducing the chances of getting pregnant again. (she has since had a baby). It will be 50 years in a few days since my mum died suddenly after an operation. Obviously the rawness and shock or her death went a long time ago. It's the 'what ifs' that pop up and bite your bum. Would I have stayed in nursing, would I have got married young, would she have some words of advice, would I have divorced, remarried, divorced, remarried or would she have put her arms round me and helped me through the rough patches - who knows. What would she think of my children and grandchildren, I'm sure she would be very proud and loving. I've learnt a great many things along the way, some easy and some very hard. It's been an interesting journey and I hope it continues for a good many years yet! I'm not sure what it would be like if I hadn't had all the complementary help, support and healing along the way. She said she uses it on a daily basis for herself and family, her grandson especially likes the Lemniscate (figure of 8) drawn on his forehead to help him sleep. She tells all her friends and family how it has helped her but they still are fearful of Hypnosis because they think I will be able to control them and make them run around like headless chicken. You don't even need to be guilty of something to feel guilt. There is help, please read on, if reading the word guilt has brought on Anxiety please hold your index and middle finger gently with the other hand for 2 to 3 minutes and breathe deeply 2 or 3 times, feeling the #anxiety drift away. This is just one tiny but very effective exercise to stop panic and stress. Survivors guilt can be all consuming, it's bad enough having a tragic event happen to you but then to be consumed by #Guilt seems totally unreasonable. Being the victim in a dreadful crime is awful, then the wonderings, the 'what ifs', was it my fault, although you know in your own mind you are innocent, #Guilt can eat away at you. Did you know 'what ifs' can be positives? What if I can be amazing just as I am - say it out loud. Do you hear police sirens behind you and think they must be coming for you only to find they go straight passed to help someone? Remember that relief, you can learn how to connect with that feeling and rid yourself of the panic, the anxiety. These are just a few examples, there are many more, the good news is you can be helped, there are ways out of your 'stuck record' situation, thoughts going round and round continuously in your head. What an amazing few weeks of this new year.
It's been wonderful helping people change their mindset, their habits and their life, just by making suggestions to them and off they go! It's been such a privilege, thank you. What I often forget is what's in my toolbox, I completed my first 'complimentary' course in 1995, yes last century! I had no idea where the journey would take me, it was a Reiki course and I thought I'd joined a secret sect, how wrong could I be, it's been fantastic and I've met some amazing people. I taught Reiki, Usui, Reiju, Karuna, for nearly 20 years and loved it, (I no longer teach), I felt very honoured to watch the students transform theirs, their family and others lives.
